Muktar Abubakar a 20 years old security and his friend Keneth Baba 18 years have been remanded in yola prison custody for stealing Church properties included offering, in yola adamawa state.

The two security officers allegedly carted away properties belonging to Living Faith Church in Nyibango, Yola North Local Government Area of Adamawa State on the 22nd November, 2021.

Baba who was the one of the security guards of the church confessed to stealing the Church’s properties, while his friend, Muktar pleaded not guilty.

The defendants were ordered by the Chief Magistrate Court 1 Admin after their arraignment before it for alleged thieft and receiving of stolen properties.

According to the prosecution, their offences contravened sections 276, 277 and 308 of the state penal code law, 2018.

Keneth, admitted to the thieft of standing fan, speakers and gas cooker valued Nat 130, 000 and allegedly gave it to Abubakar.

Seargent Nimrod Galeon,told the court that the arrest of the duo followed a complaint lodged by the Pastor of the church, Ejeh Enejo, on the 3rd November, 2021.

Nimrod said pastor Ejeh, had reported to the police that they left their security guard in the church to protect the properties, but when they came to the church the following day, they found out that the said properties wwasstolen by the security guards.

While ruling on the application for adjournment filed by Nimrod, Chief Magistrate of the court Abdullahi Mohammed Digil, granted the applications as prayed.

He further adjourned the case to 23rd November, 2021 for summary trial of the 1st defendant, and ordered the prosecution to call witnesses for commencement of hearing in respect of 2nd defendant.

However, he ordered the remand of the two defendant in prison custody until further set date by the court.
